Forgiveness

One thing is guaranteed: As you go through life, people will hurt and offend you. It is your choice whether you hold it against them, harboring resentment, or you forgive them as Christ has forgiven you.

Make a forgiveness checklist like the one you read about. 

  • Write down everyone you could possibly have anything against. Anyone you have bitterness, hatred, or unforgiveness toward for any reason big or small.

  • In prayer, go through the list one name at a time saying, “_____, I forgive you for _____.” Take time to truly mean it for every person. 

  • Go through the list again, repenting to God for anything you did against anyone, even if it's small things. 

  • Go through the list again one name at a time saying, “______, I bless you.” Repeat this exercise until all is forgiven truthfully.
